At Artistic Ink, lip color is not one-size-fits-all. We design a treatment based on your natural lip color, skin undertone, and the look you want to achieve.

Lip Blush

A cosmetic tattooing technique that gently implants pigment into the skin using a soft shading method — creating dimension, volume, and a natural tint. We can blend two or three colors to achieve a sensual, full appearance that heals soft and smooth.

Lip Neutralization / Lip Glow

During the first melanin-rich lip correction session, we neutralize cool tones and lift the darkness of the lips using warm-based pigments in red and orange tones. The result is a softer, more unified lip color using the same gentle shading technique.

The Procedure — Step by Step

Preparation & Consent

We use state-of-the-art equipment and materials approved by the State of California. Before we begin, all required forms are completed as mandated by state law, and we review your health history and any contraindications.

Design & Numbing

We cleanse the lip area, draw the agreed-upon shape, and once you approve the design, sterilize the surface and apply a topical anesthetic (cream and/or gel) for your comfort.

Pigment Application

Pigment is gently implanted into the dermal layer of the skin. Immediately after, the color will appear 40–50% darker than your chosen shade — completely normal. Over 3–4 days it softens and settles into your true chosen color. The procedure typically takes 1–2 hours, leaving you with naturally enhanced lips.

Perfecting Session (6–10 Weeks)

A follow-up session 6–10 weeks later (30–60 min) adds more pigment and perfects the final result. During healing, some areas may not retain pigment as expected — this is completely normal, as everyone heals differently.

✨ The final result reveals itself over 3–4 weeks as your skin heals. The best results come after the perfecting session, not the day of your procedure.
